SCHWARTZ (Dan Morse, Fred Hamilton, Richard Schwartz, Arnold Fisher, Bobby Wolff, Lewis Finkel) won the 2011 US Seniors Championship and will represent the USA as USA 1 in Veldhoven. They kept their momentum going from yesterday's late rally winning the 5th segment 45-1, and then held on during the relatively even 6th and final segment to win 201 to 166. The LYNCH team (Carolyn Lynch, Mark Lair, John Sutherlin, Mike Passell, Garey Hayden, Peter Weichsel) will drop into the USA 2 bracket and will have another chance to qualify for the Senior Bowl.

At the age of 27, Daniel Lavee has been playing bridge for almost twenty years. At the age of ten, he played his first tournament in Toronto with long time bridge friends Charles Halasi and Gavin Wolpert. He recalls sitting with Gavin in the back of the Wolpert station wagon on the way to the Royal York Hotel. They played in a Swiss Teams event and Daniel remembers how excited the team was to win their first match and to be awarded fractions of Master Points.
